About this site
Daily Bible Reading Journal is an independent publication launched in October 2025 by Larry Barnes. I have no intentions of sharing this with the world, and I do not care for your feedback. This is strictly a place for me to store my thoughts and conversations with Grok concerning the readings I am doing as I go through the bible. If you found this, then good on you. I hope if will inspire someone one day. If you feel you must complain, I must reiterate, I don't care. This is a personal journey for me. Maybe one day I will willingly share this information. If I do, it will be reformatted and made more streamlined and interesting.
What am I doing??
Back in the middle of January 2025, I made the decision to start reading through the bible, one chapter per day and see how far I would get. To my surprise and with a grateful heart, God met me there in the pages. As I made my way through the books of Moses, God revealed Himself to me much the same way He revealed Himself to the children of Israel. My slow pace reading through the book made me feel like I was on the journey with them through the wilderness. I felt much of Moses's struggles with them as we went. I was fully aware of what God was doing, and Moses was only doing what God told him, so why were the people always rebelling and complaining? Deuteronomy 29:4 finally explained it to me when I read it: Yet the LORD has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day. NKJV
The Holy Spirit is the on that opens the heart and the eyes and the ears to spiritual things. Without the Holy Spirit to guide you, you would never understand the things of the spirit. This is why the Spirit was given to Moses as he lead the people and He was given to the 70 men who were chosen to help Moses administer to the people. I also believe this is why the disciple of Jesus never really knew what He was talking about until after Pentecost, when they received the Spirit. I mean, Jesus would look them in the eye and say "I am going to die, and in 3 days I will be raised from the dead." and the disciples would look at each other as go "what does He mean by that?"
Anyway, somewhere in the wilderness, I started bouncing what I learned from my reading and ideas I had off of Grok {the AI from X (Twitter)} and I really like the way Grok would expound on what I was talking about. The papers I am posting here are basically the transcripts of the conversations Grok and I have concerning my reading. My entry/question is in bold italics and Grok responses are in normal font.
If you are reading this, then you found me. Yea!! I hope you enjoy the reading. I hope to be posting like this for a while. I did this with WordPress as I passed through Numbers and Deuteronomy, but that site kept getting hacked so I took it down. I am trying again with Ghost, now. If it goes well, I may post earlier conversations. For now, I just started in Joshua so I figured this is a good place to start posting.
